Alexander Hoffman Counselor, APC, MEd at Living Fully

Hi, I’m Alexander Hoffman, an Associate Professional Counselor at Living Fully.

I am a gay, transgender clinician dedicated to providing individual therapy to Georgia’s gender, sexuality, and relationship structure minority communities. I am passionate about my community and filling the gap in mental health care that many of us experience.

If you are LGBTQ+, polyamorous, or exploring your identity, it can be exhausting to make your way through a world that isn't made for you. If you feel like you are drowning under the pressure of today’s demands, how are you supposed to find the energy to work on your goals, learn who you are, or take time to enjoy life? You may feel alone, and in need of support on your journey of exploration. You might find yourself numb and in emotional pain, wishing people could see and understand your real self. You’re ready to get help, and you want a therapist that specializes in clients like you.

I have previously worked at an inpatient hospitalization unit, a partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient program, and a school-based therapy program.

If you are looking for a therapeutic environment that celebrates you and all of your identities, email me at alexander@livingfullytherapy.com to set up a consultation.

I am available:

Monday through Friday, 10 am - 6 pm for either online or in-person sessions at our main office (across the street from Emory).

Focus Areas/Therapy Modalities:

My therapeutic approach is deeply client-centered, meaning that I tailor my methods to your unique needs, goals, and experiences while providing an environment of empathy, acceptance, and authenticity. I also integrate techniques from other theories when appropriate. I understand that the LGBTQ+ experience is diverse, and I strive to create a welcoming environment that celebrates you.

Some of my focus areas include:

  • Gender Identity: Supporting individuals in their journey of self-discovery, gender affirmation, and navigating gender dysphoria. I also write letters for gender affirming surgeries.

  • Sexual Orientation: Providing a space to explore and understand sexual orientation, coming out, and finding community.

  • Relationship Structure: Assisting LGBTQ+, and polyamorous partners in navigating communication, trust, and intimacy.

  • Parenting & Family Support: Helping clients with LGBTQ+ family members understand and embrace their loved one's identity.

  • Mental Health: Addressing anxiety, depression, and other mental health challenges in the context of LGBTQ+ experiences.
